Post-Doctoral Fellowship - Biomass Mapping with GPR
The Group of Applied Geophysics of the Department of Geophysics of Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas (IAG) from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), at São Paulo, Brazil, is selecting a candidate for a fellowship from FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo) – NERC-Natural Environment Research Council to collaborate in the Project "Nordeste: uma nova ciência para um importante, porém negligenciado bioma". The fellowship has the duration of 24 months, beginning in January or February, 2017.
Candidates must have Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Geophysics, with significant experience on GPR-Ground Penetrating Radar data acquisition, digital signal processing, application of GPR method on shallow subsurface studies and proved scientific production in international scientific journals.
Other requirements include oral and written proficiency on English language, oral and written proficiency in Portuguese language and availability to live in São Paulo (SP, Brazil) developing activities in the IAG/USP Department of Geophysics. Candidates with immediate availability will be preferred.
Candidates must send an interest/motivation interest letter, Curriculum Vitae and three recommendation letters to Prof. Jorge Luís Porsani, main researcher responsible for the fellowship. Documents will be received until December 2nd, 2016.
