O seminário do Departamento de Ciências Atmosféricas será apresentado pelo Dr. Zitely Asafay Tzompa Sosa (Graduate research at Colorado State University in the fields: Air quality impacts from wildfires and agricultural burning; Emissions and air quality impacts from the oil and gas industry; Emission inventories).

Resumo: Oil and gas extraction emit a variety of compounds including light alkanes (C2-C5) that have been shown to contribute not only to the increase in the atmospheric abundance of light alkanes, but also to air quality degradation. I will present results from three recent papers that quantify the role of the oil and gas sector on light alkane emissions at local, regional, and global scales.
