Double Degree

USP establishes agreements with foreign institutions to confer Double Degree for Doctorate candidates who studying under advisors from both institutions. These agreements ("Convênio Acadêmico Internacional Para Co-orientação de Tese de Doutorado") are reciprocal and do not include the names of the students. Each Double Degree candidate will sign a letter of commitment to join the existing agreement.

Double Degree candidates must be regularly enrolled as a Doctorate candidate (at either USP or the foreign institution). Norms for joint supervision can be found at USP's Graduate Regulations.

In order to expedite this process, USP's Provost for Graduate Programs offers templates for Double Degree agreements.

More information can be found with USP's Provost for Graduate Programs or with IAG's Graduate Office (cpgiag@usp.br).
