Dynamics and evolution of young stellar clusters

Star clusters are the main building blocks of the Galaxy throughout time and space. Understanding how they form and evolve is the key to explain galaxy formation and evolution. Young clusters play a particularly important role in this regard to investigate the early stages of star and planet formation, and to connect models to observations. Significant progress has been made in recent years to discover and characterise young stellar clusters thanks to the state-of-the-art astrometry delivered by the Gaia satellite and VLBI observations. In this talk I will present recent results on the census of the stellar population, structure, kinematic properties and local history of star formation of young stellar clusters located in the Solar neighbourhood using the most precise data available to date combined with machine-learning methods.
Doutor em Astronomia pelo Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas da Universidade de São Paulo (IAG/USP) e Bacharel em Física com Habilitação em Astronomia pelo Instituto de Física da Universidade de São Paulo (IF/USP). Realizou pós-doutorado no Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas da Universidade de São Paulo (IAG/USP), no Institut de Planétologie et d'Astrophysique (IPAG/França), Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Bordeaux (LAB/França), e atualmente é pesquisador do Núcleo de Astrofísica da Universidade Cidade de São Paulo (NAT/Unicid). Atua na área de astrometria de altíssima precisão, formação estelar de baixa massa, aglomerados estelares jovens, estrutura e dinâmica da Gálaxia. Tem experiência observacional com dados espectroscópicos e interferométricos e métodos de aprendizado de máquina.
